Mission

I spend my work days talking to women about their pelvic floor problems. All of these conversations have taught me a few things:

01.

Starting a conversation about bladder leaking is hard. Who wants to have this conversation? Or maybe you’ve started it and been told that your leaking is normal. Or you’re not sure who to talk to. Or maybe you feel a little too embarrassed or ashamed to admit you are leaking. I feel privileged when women share this problem with me.

02.

You don’t realize how common leaking is. Leaking urine is one of the last taboos. We talk about lots of things, but this isn’t usually one of them. This can make you feel isolated and lead to the shame associated with leaking. But honestly, I talk about this all day, every day, with almost every woman I see. That is a lot of leaking, in a lot of different people!

03.

You want to try to handle this on your own. Women manage their leaking for 5-7 years before discussing it with a doctor. This means that you are searching for information and things to do. There is lots of information out there, but it is hard to navigate and figure out. I can provide tools to help you manage and improve your leaking.

04.

Leaking makes you feel old and not so cute. Most of the information on leaking really targets older women. But it can happen to anyone– young women, women who haven’t had children, women who haven’t had vaginal deliveries, healthy women, ahtletes. It isn’t just you.

My mission is to educate women about the bladder and incontinence and to empower them to find the solution that works for them!
